ARTETA BLAMES NEW SIGNING EZE AFTER ARSENAL’S 1-0 LOSS TO LIVERPOOL

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has expressed his frustration after his team suffered their first defeat of the new Premier League season, losing 1-0 to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

A stunning long-range strike from Dominik Szoboszlai in the 83rd minute sealed all three points for the Reds, leaving the Gunners empty-handed despite creating chances.

After the game, Arteta singled out new signing Eberechi Eze, who made his debut following his £67.5m move from Crystal Palace. The midfielder was introduced in the second half and quickly found himself with a golden opportunity to level the score, but failed to convert.

“You have to put the ball in the back of the net,” Arteta told Sky Sports.
“Today we had three, four, five situations inside the box one-vs-one. Eze is completely through just to finish the action. You have to put the ball in the net if you want to win.”

The missed chance proved costly as Arsenal slipped to their first loss after winning their opening two matches of the season. Liverpool, on the other hand, maintained their perfect start with three wins from three games, sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League table.

For Eze, it was a tough introduction to life at Arsenal, but with the season still young, fans will be hoping he quickly finds his rhythm to justify his big-money move.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
