Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has paid tribute to Enzo Maresca following Chelsea’s decision to dismiss the Italian coach.
Reacting to the development, Arteta described Maresca’s spell at Stamford Bridge as impressive, both professionally and personally.
“I really like Enzo as a person and as a professional,” Arteta said. “He did a terrific job at Chelsea. That decision has been made, and I wish him all the best.”
Maresca guided Chelsea to success last season, winning both the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup. However, the Blues have struggled this campaign and currently sit 15 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
