Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has opened up about the challenges he faced in gaining his father’s support for his music career.

In a recent interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the “Sungba” hitmaker shared that his once-close relationship with his father became strained when he decided to pursue music against his wishes.

According to Asake, his father strongly disapproved of his decision, but he chose to follow his passion regardless, even if it meant leaving home.

“My dad and I were very close when I was younger. But there came a point when I wanted to leave home to do what I’m doing now, and my father said no. I still left,” he said.

The singer also addressed past tensions between them, noting that they have since reconciled, with him taking responsibility for his father’s well-being.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
