Nollywood actress Ashabi has once again addressed her critics after the arrest of her baby daddy, singer Portable.

On her Instagram page, she shared a loving video of herself and Portable from before their public fallout, which eventually led to his detention.

Ashabi urged her followers not to believe everything they hear, referencing how Portable claimed he was asleep when she allegedly scattered his belongings. She wrote:

"Make una believe anything una like oooooo, but my own believe be dat ogun lo ma n sini mu, epe kii sini ja. This is the video I made that night before Devil carry gun ooooo. Wey baba say he Dey sleep dem call him say I don scatter bar. Olorun ku suuru."

Portable was reportedly arrested by authorities following a viral clip that showed him attempting to flee while a group of people held him back. On Tuesday, he was arraigned at a High Court in Onipanu on charges including assault, felony occasioning harm, and resisting arrest. He was accused of attacking Ashabi and obstructing a female police inspector in the course of her duties. Portable was remanded in custody until January 19, when his bail application will be considered.

The drama began on New Year’s Day, when Ashabi and Portable engaged in a heated argument. Ashabi even reportedly told the singer to kill her. Portable, in an Instagram video, claimed that Ashabi came to his house to attack his family, alleging that his pregnant wife was beaten and guns were pointed at his children. He also claimed Ashabi’s mother accused him of using charms on her daughter and questioned why he had not bought her a car.

Ashabi, however, defended herself, saying that when she and her siblings went to celebrate the New Year with Portable, he pushed and slapped her. She alleged that he brandished an axe, forcefully took their phones, struck her younger brother in the eye, and slapped her younger sister, forcing her to seek safety in his office.

In a separate post, the mother of two told critics to leave Portable alone, asking them to allow her to breathe, reduce unsolicited advice, and give her space to think for herself.
