The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced that its organs will convene to determine the next course of action following the expiration of its ultimatum to the Federal Government today, Saturday.

Benson Upah, the acting Secretary-General of the NLC, confirmed this development.

A month ago, the NLC had issued an ultimatum to the Federal Government, urging urgent resolution of the ongoing crisis affecting universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

With the ultimatum having lapsed on Friday, Upah emphasized that the NLC remains committed to maintaining industrial harmony in tertiary institutions.

He stated, “In keeping with our pledge and unwavering commitment to the noble causes of unions in tertiary institutions, appropriate organs of the Congress will meet and decide on the next line of action. You will be duly informed.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
