Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the rising wave of violent attacks across Nigeria, describing them as a threat to national peace, unity, and stability.

In a statement posted on his official X account, Atiku denounced what he called “continued acts of terrorism and brigandage,” warning that such violence must not define the country.

He extended condolences to victims and affected communities, while urging authorities to intensify efforts to restore security and public confidence.

“The foremost responsibility of any government is the protection of lives and property,” he said, calling for renewed urgency, coordination, and resolve in addressing insecurity.

Atiku also acknowledged support from the United States in the fight against terrorism, stressing the importance of sustained international cooperation.

His comments come amid renewed attacks across several regions of the country, including deadly incidents in the North-East, North-West, and North-Central zones.

Recent violence includes assaults on military and civilian communities in states such as Borno State, Kaduna State, Benue State, Katsina State, Kebbi State, and Kwara State, which have resulted in multiple casualties and widespread displacement.
