Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the winner of the African Democratic Congress presidential primary election in Osun State.

Atiku secured 12,321 votes to defeat Hayatu Deen Muhammed, who polled 4,000 votes, while former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, came third with 679 votes.

The results showed that Atiku won in all 30 local government areas of the state.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Osun ADC spokesperson, Oluwaseun Abosede, the results were announced by the chairman of the electoral committee, Olusola Adepoju.

The statement said Atiku received 12,321 votes out of the 17,000 total votes cast during the primary election.
