Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has renewed his allegation that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is plotting to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, despite earlier denials by the state government and the palace.

In a statement shared on his X account, Fayose claimed that recent accusations against the monarch were part of a broader plan to justify action against him.

He alleged that initial denials of any rift between the governor and the Olubadan were misleading, insisting that unfolding events would confirm his claims.

The controversy comes amid rising political tension in Oyo State, with reports of an alleged impeachment plot against Governor Makinde also making the rounds.

However, the Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gbenga Oyekola, distanced himself from any such move, stating he was neither involved nor consulted.

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the governor and stressed his commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the state.

Both the Oyo State Government and the Olubadan’s palace have previously dismissed Fayose’s allegations as baseless.

The state Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, maintained that the government had never contemplated or discussed removing the monarch, describing the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.

Similarly, aides to the Olubadan have denied any rift between the palace and the state government, insisting there is no cause for conflict.
