BABA-AHMED SAYS PRP READY TO DEFEAT APC, PROMISES NEW DIRECTION FOR NIGERIA

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has declared its readiness to challenge and defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), with party chieftain Hakeem Baba-Ahmed saying the opposition party is prepared to offer Nigeria a new direction.

Baba-Ahmed made the remarks during a political engagement, where he criticized the current state of governance in the country and argued that Nigerians are increasingly seeking alternative leadership that prioritizes accountability, economic stability, and national unity.

He stated that the PRP is positioning itself as a credible alternative ahead of future elections, insisting that the party has the ideas and structure needed to lead the country in a different direction if given the opportunity.

According to him, the APC-led administration has failed to meet the expectations of many citizens, especially in areas of security, cost of living, and public trust in government institutions. He urged Nigerians to consider new political platforms that can drive meaningful change.

The comments have generated reactions across political circles, with supporters of the PRP welcoming the message as a sign of renewed opposition energy. However, critics argue that smaller parties still face significant structural and electoral challenges in competing with Nigeria’s dominant political blocs.

Baba-Ahmed maintained that the PRP’s focus remains on building grassroots support and engaging citizens directly, stressing that political power ultimately lies with the people.

As political activities gradually build ahead of future elections, the statement adds to growing conversations around opposition realignment and Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
