BALLON D’OR 2025: DEMBELE THANKS RENNES, DORTMUND, BARCELONA AFTER HISTORIC WIN
Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele has been crowned the winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or, beating competition from rising sensation Lamine Yamal and PSG teammate Vitinha.
The 28-year-old French forward capped off an incredible year by lifting the prestigious award at a glittering ceremony in Paris, where he was presented the trophy by Brazilian legend Ronaldinho.
In his acceptance speech, Dembele expressed gratitude to three clubs that shaped his career before joining PSG: Stade Rennes, Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona.
“Thank you to all the clubs I have played for: Stade Rennes, Borussia Dortmund, and the club I always dreamed of playing for, Barcelona,” Dembele said.
Dembele’s performances last season were nothing short of outstanding. He fired 39 goals and provided 14 assists across all competitions, helping PSG secure a clean sweep of trophies — including the UEFA Champions League and the French Ligue 1 title under manager Luis Enrique.
The triumph marks Dembele’s first Ballon d’Or win, placing him firmly among football’s elite after a career defined by resilience and brilliance.
