BANDITS KIDNAP WOMEN AND GIRLS IN KANO BORDER COMMUNITIES
Armed bandits have launched a late-night attack on Sundu and Biresawa villages in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting several women and girls and heightening tension across nearby border settlements.
The two villages sit along the Katsina–Kano boundary, a route increasingly targeted by armed groups despite a recent peace agreement involving Ingawa, Kankia, and Kusada LGAs in Katsina State.
The incident was highlighted on Tuesday by security analyst Bakatsine, who posted on X that the latest raid suggests attacks are shifting toward border communities rather than decreasing.
He noted that despite the peace deal, insecurity appears to be moving from one location to another, raising questions about whether the agreement has genuinely improved safety in the northwest or simply redirected the violence.
Security agencies have not yet issued an official statement on the abductions.
