Armed bandits have reportedly launched fresh attacks on the Madattai and Gaba-Lafiya communities in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, resulting in the death of one person and the theft of several livestock.
The incident, which occurred last Tuesday, was revealed in a post shared by a security analyst identified as Bakatsine on X (formerly Twitter). The attack came despite a peace agreement reached in February between the bandits and local authorities in Jibia LGA.
Bakatsine noted that security forces swiftly responded by pursuing the assailants and successfully recovering the stolen animals.
As of the time of this report, government authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
