The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has distributed 47 Sharon vehicles and 282 Boxer motorcycles to leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Kano North Senatorial District.

The beneficiaries also included former party officials in the zone as part of the senator’s empowerment programme.

Speaking during the distribution exercise on Wednesday, the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Senate President, Muhammad Abdullahi, said the initiative was designed to help beneficiaries become self-reliant and improve their livelihoods.

“Kano North Senatorial District is blessed with the Deputy President of the Senate, who kept on distributing goods that would help stimulate human development and make life easy for those who benefit from them,” Abdullahi said.

He added that supporters of the senator were not disturbed by criticism or attacks against him, insisting that the people behind such actions lacked credibility.

Abdullahi also urged recipients of the vehicles and motorcycles not to sell them, but to make productive use of the items to generate income.

Media aide to the senator, Shittu Madaki, confirmed the items distributed.

“What we have on the ground for distribution includes 47 cars, 282 motorcycles, and more such goodies are coming soon,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Salihu Takai, described the initiative as consistent with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope programme.

He said Senator Barau’s interventions were focused on reducing poverty at the grassroots level and improving the welfare of families in Kano North.

“This is not the first of his interventions on human and capital development for his Kano North Senatorial District, and will certainly not be the last,” Takai stated.

The beneficiaries included APC local government chairmen, their secretaries, and former party officials across the senatorial district.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
