Former Secretary to the State Government cites personal reflection and insists political journey continues as exit creates uncertainty for party platform

The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bauchi State, Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, has formally resigned his membership from the party.

In an official statement and letter addressed to the party’s chairman in the Bauchi Local Government Area, Kashim confirmed that his resignation took effect from October 16, 2026.

Reflecting on the decision, the former candidate noted that his exit followed careful personal consideration, reassuring supporters and key political allies that his commitment to advocating for good governance, economic revitalization, and youth empowerment in Bauchi State remains unchanged.

Kashim urged his followers to remain calm, steadfast, and united, saying his political movement is far from over and that he will publicly communicate the next phase of his political direction in due course.

The sudden departure of the gubernatorial candidate presents a significant strategic setback for the Bauchi State chapter of the NDC as political structures reorganize ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
