Nigerian champions Bayelsa Queens are through to the final of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League, where they will face ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire in what promises to be a thrilling clash.

The Yenagoa-based side secured their place in the final after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Burkina Faso’s USFA on Tuesday.

It wasn’t an easy ride for Bayelsa Queens, as they went behind early in the second minute when Comfort Yeboah struck for USFA. But the Nigerian champions showed their fighting spirit, with Emem Essien drawing them level before Seimeyeha Akekoromowei netted the winner to complete the comeback.

In the other semi-final, ASEC Mimosas were in ruthless form, cruising to a commanding 4-1 win over Ghana’s Police Ladies to book their spot in the decider.

Both teams will now battle for the trophy at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, on Friday.

Bayelsa Queens will be aiming to crown their campaign with silverware, but they’ll need to overcome a strong ASEC side hungry for glory on home soil.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
