Bayern Munich celebrated a memorable night at the Allianz Arena, claiming a 2-0 win over Borussia Moenchengladbach to mark their 33rd Bundesliga title in style. But beyond the result, it was a night of emotion and legacy, as club legend Thomas Mueller bid farewell after a remarkable 25-year career with the Bavarian giants.

Playing in his 750th match for Bayern, the 35-year-old forward received a standing ovation and a guard of honour as he left the pitch in the 83rd minute. Mueller, who came close to scoring in the second half, ends his time at the club having won a record 13 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League trophies. “I can’t really work it through in my mind at the moment,” he told Sky Germany, visibly moved. “75,000 hearts were beating just a little bit for me.”

On the pitch, Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 31st minute, heading home a curling effort from Michael Olise to register his 25th goal of the Bundesliga campaign. The England striker has been instrumental in Bayern’s title-winning season, making an instant impact in his debut year in Germany.

Despite a subdued performance from Bayern, Gladbach failed to make the most of their opportunities, squandering several chances to equalise. Olise would later add Bayern’s second goal in the final minute, sealing the win with a close-range finish.

The title had been mathematically secured a day earlier when second-placed Bayer Leverkusen were held to a 2-2 draw at Freiburg. Bayern were officially crowned champions at full-time, lifting the Bundesliga shield in front of their home supporters.

Adding to the evening’s farewells, Eric Dier—Kane’s long-time England and Tottenham teammate—was also honoured before the match. The defender is set to join AS Monaco in the summer, bringing his brief spell at Bayern to an end.

With the league trophy secured, Kane thriving in his first Bundesliga season, and Mueller departing as a club icon, the night was both a celebration of the present and a tribute to Bayern Munich’s enduring legacy.
