BENGALURU ENGINEER ARRESTED FOR STABBING WOMAN AFTER FAILED S£XUAL ASSAULT IN PG
Police in Bengaluru have arrested Saibabu Chennuru, an engineer, for allegedly attacking a 24-year-old woman after she resisted his attempt at s£xual harassment in their co-living paying guest (PG) facility.
The shocking incident occurred around 3 a.m. when Chennuru, who had recently befriended the woman — a bank employee — barged into her room. According to the police complaint, he allegedly tried to force himself on her, stabbed her in the back when she resisted, and took objectionable photos to blackmail her.
He is also accused of demanding ₹70,000, transferring ₹14,000 from her phone to his account, and threatening to leak her private pictures if she reported the crime.
The victim, an analyst with American Express, was rushed to Manipal Hospital and is now out of danger. Police confirmed that the suspect is in custody and will face prosecution.
This disturbing case comes just weeks after another PG-related assault in Bengaluru, raising concerns about the safety of women in shared accommodations.
