In the peaceful town of Inisha, Osun State, two young men named Sayoo and Bayo were known as true brothers. They had been best friends since childhood, walking the same path through life. Everyone in town admired their friendship. They shared everything—laughter, dreams, and even secrets.

But there was one thing they never expected to share: a woman.

Her name was Janet. She was beautiful, charming, and always wore a smile that could melt hearts. Many men in Inisha admired her from afar, but it was Sayoo who first caught her attention.

They met at a local party during the Osun-Osogbo Festival in Osogbo. Sayoo, full of confidence, introduced himself and asked for her number. Janet laughed, impressed by his boldness. She agreed, and soon, they began to see each other often.

Janet told Sayoo he was the only one in her life. She sweet-talked him, showered him with affection, and Sayoo fell for her quickly. He believed he had found the one.

But what Sayoo didn’t know was that just two weeks after they met, Janet had also started a relationship with Bayo—his best friend.

She met Bayo at a filling station in town where his car broke down. She helped him call a mechanic and, from there, they exchanged numbers. Bayo liked her calm voice and kind smile. Janet didn’t tell him about Sayoo either. She played her cards well, meeting Sayoo in the evenings and Bayo on weekends.

She had no idea the two men were close friends.

As the months passed, Janet became more confident in her double life. She thought she could control everything. She never imagined her two secrets would one day collide.

But fate had other plans.

One hot Saturday afternoon, Janet decided to surprise Bayo at his house. She bought a take-away pack of his favorite rice and drove straight to his place. She didn’t call ahead—she wanted to make it special.

As she knocked on the door, her heart beat fast with excitement.

Bayo opened the door and smiled. “Janet! What a surprise!”

She stepped in, laughing—until she saw Sayoo sitting on the sofa, sipping a drink.

Her legs became weak. Her heart dropped.

Sayoo looked up, confused. “Janet?”

The room went silent.

Janet froze. She couldn’t say a word. Her lips opened slightly, but no sound came out. The two men stared at her, then at each other.

Then she turned and ran out of the house, leaving the food and the silence behind her.

Later that evening, Janet sat alone in her room, shaking. She couldn’t stop thinking about what had just happened. Her lies had finally caught up with her. But worse was yet to come.

She had been feeling strange for days—dizzy, nauseous, and tired. She bought a pregnancy test and went into the bathroom.
