“I Value Truth Above All Else”: Bimbo Akintola Shares Why She’s Still Single at 52

Veteran Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has spoken candidly about why she remains single and without children at the age of 52, saying her journey is shaped by life’s twists rather than a lack of desire for marriage or family.

In an exclusive chat with Pulse Nigeria, the Edo and Oyo State-born star described marriage as a sacred union that should happen before God and be witnessed by loved ones. She recalled once meeting a man she believed was her life partner, but tragedy struck when he passed away.

Since then, Akintola says she hasn’t met someone who meets her values — with honesty topping the list.

“I value truthfulness above all else. I won’t marry unless I’m sure it will last forever,” she revealed.

 

While she remains open to love, the actress insists she won’t settle for less.

“Even if I find the right person at 78, I would still get married,” she said with conviction.

Akintola also addressed societal pressures, stressing that marriage doesn’t define a woman — but acknowledged that companionship becomes more important with age.

“It’s not the be-all and end-all, but as you grow older, especially when children leave home, loneliness can set in. Companionship becomes essential in later years,” she explained.
