BLESSING CEO CONTROVERSY DEEPENS AS POLICE OPEN INVESTIGATION ON VDM’S PETITION
Popular Nigerian social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed that a petition he filed against controversial relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has been approved for investigation by the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
The development follows controversy surrounding Blessing CEO’s recent claim that she was battling stage four cancer.
On March 25, 2026, Blessing CEO shared a viral video on Instagram where she tearfully claimed to have been diagnosed with stage four cancer. In the video, she showed signs of hair loss, which she said was a result of the illness.
Following the announcement, she also disclosed that she had begun selling some of her properties to raise funds for her treatment.
However, the situation took a different turn after the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State chapter, disowned a histology report circulating online that was linked to her. The association stated that the document appeared to have been altered from an original medical report belonging to another patient diagnosed with breast cancer.
After facing widespread criticism and allegations of falsifying the report, Blessing CEO later retracted her earlier claim. In a subsequent interview, she admitted, “I don’t have stage four cancer. That was a miscommunication.”
She also stated that the total amount raised through donations was about 13 million Naira before she deactivated her social media account.
Reacting to the incident, VeryDarkMan said he decided to file a petition after personally donating money to her, believing her initial claim.
In a video shared on his official Instagram page, VDM explained that he was moved by compassion after watching her video.
“I believed her because she shaved her hair and I felt compassion. That day, I didn’t even have anything left in my account, but I still transferred money to her,” he said.
He expressed disappointment over the situation, stressing the importance of supporting people genuinely battling cancer.
“There are many people living with cancer. How can someone come out and joke with something like this?” he added.
VDM further confirmed that he had formally submitted a petition to the police, which has now been assigned for investigation by the Inspector General of Police.
