The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has launched an ambitious input distribution programme in Katsina State targeting 10,000 hectares of farmland to boost agricultural productivity and support smallholder farmers.

The initiative, which includes the provision of improved seeds, fertilisers, and other farm inputs, aims to enhance crop yields and contribute to food security in the region. BOA officials stated that the programme will be implemented in collaboration with state authorities and farmer groups.

The Bank’s Managing Director emphasised the importance of timely access to quality inputs for farmers. “This programme is designed to empower our farmers and increase productivity across the state,” he said.

Farmers in Katsina have welcomed the intervention, expressing hope that it will help mitigate the challenges posed by climate change and input scarcity.

The Bank plans to expand similar programmes to other states in the coming farming season.
