BONIFACE LEFT OUT OF LEVERKUSEN EUROPA LEAGUE SQUAD TO GREECE
Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has been left out of Bayer Leverkusen’s squad for their Europa League trip to Greece, raising questions about his availability for the German club’s upcoming European fixture.
Boniface, who has represented Nigeria at international level, has been an important attacking option for Leverkusen since joining the Bundesliga side. His absence from the travelling squad means the club will have to consider other options as it prepares for the match.
The Nigerian forward has built a reputation for his strength, movement and ability to create scoring opportunities. His presence can give Leverkusen an additional attacking threat, particularly in matches where the team needs to break down a well-organised defence.
However, being left out of a matchday squad does not automatically mean a player is injured or has fallen out of favour with the coach. Squad decisions can be influenced by fitness concerns, tactical plans, workload management or other considerations.
Leverkusen’s trip to Greece presents another challenge in their European campaign, with the team aiming to secure a positive result away from home. Travelling matches in European competitions can be demanding, making squad depth and careful preparation important factors.
For Nigerian football fans, Boniface’s omission will naturally attract attention, given the striker’s profile and his potential contribution to the Super Eagles. Supporters will be keen to learn whether his absence is temporary and when he could return to action.
Until the club provides further clarification, the reason for leaving the striker out remains uncertain.
