BORNO POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT FOR SUSPECT IN MINOR’S RAPE CASE
The Borno State Police Command is actively searching for Abdulsalam Adakwaki, alleged to have raped a five-year-old girl on November 13 in the State Low-Cost area of Maiduguri. Contrary to circulating reports, the police clarified that no arrest has been made.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, with community leaders and the Civilian Joint Task Force assisting in locating the suspect. Public Relations Officer Nahum Daso urged residents with credible information to report it to the nearest police station to aid in the arrest.
Daso emphasized that the investigation is being conducted transparently under supervision, with monitoring opportunities for human rights organizations. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
In a related incident, the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps recently arrested a 28-year-old man, Olapade Ifeoluwa, for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl in Ilawe Ekiti, highlighting ongoing efforts across states to tackle such crimes.
