Iyabo Ojo to Mothers: Break Generational Curses and Protect Your Children’s Future

Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has shared a heartfelt message to mothers, encouraging them to break free from negative generational patterns and create a better life for their children.

Speaking at her daughter Priscilla’s baby shower over the weekend in Canada, the mother of two stressed the importance of intentional parenting, healing from past trauma, and embracing positive declarations to shape a better future.

“Sometimes, you need to sacrifice so much for your children,” Iyabo said. “The decisions you make today should not become a burden for them tomorrow.”

She warned against passing down pain, trauma, and limiting beliefs to children, explaining that unresolved emotional struggles can rob the next generation of their blessings. Instead, she encouraged mothers to identify and stop harmful cycles, especially those linked to

 ancestral curses.

“There is something called ancestral curses. You cannot break it if you’re leading it. For you to break it, you must stop it—you must end it,” she declared passionately.

Iyabo emphasized that breaking generational curses isn’t just a spiritual task but also a mental and emotional commitment. She urged mothers to take accountability for their own healing, so their children can grow up free from inherited struggles.

Her message struck a chord with many online, especially young parents who see her as a role model for strength, grace, and personal growth.

In a time where open conversations about mental health, emotional baggage, and family healing are becoming more accepted, Iyabo Ojo’s advice is a timely reminder that the work we do on ourselves today can build a brighter, freer future for our children.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
