BREAKING: D’TIGRESS DEFEAT SENEGAL 75-68 TO REACH AFROBASKET 2025 FINAL
Nigeria’s D’Tigress have secured a place in the final of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket after defeating Senegal 75-68 in a gripping semi-final clash played on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The match tipped off at 6:00 p.m. (WAT) and concluded around 7:45 p.m. at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
The win marks their ninth straight victory over Senegal and further extends their dominance on the continent.
Coached by Rena Wakama, D’Tigress are now unbeaten in 28 consecutive AfroBasket games and remain firmly on course to claim a fifth successive championship title.
Senegal began the game with strong momentum, racing to an early 11-2 lead. However, Nigeria rallied back to finish the first quarter ahead, 22-17.
D’Tigress maintained their lead going into halftime with a 43-37 advantage.
Senegal bounced back in the third quarter to edge ahead 54-50, but the defending champions responded decisively in the final quarter to seal the 75-68 win and advance to Sunday’s final.
