BREAKING: OBI, KWANKWASO, DICKSON ARRIVE FOR NDC NEC MEETING
The Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi, his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and the party’s National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, arrived in Abuja on Monday for its National Executive Committee meeting.
The gathering, taking place in Maitama, comes ahead of the inauguration of the party’s National Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.
Party leaders, candidates, supporters and senior political figures from across the country attended as the NDC continued preparations for the polls.
Supporters gave Dickson and the party’s National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, an enthusiastic welcome. Obi and Kwankwaso were received with a customised version of Olamide’s popular song, “Wo.”
Obi wore his signature all-black outfit with a matching cap, while Kwankwaso appeared in a flowing white babanriga and his familiar red-and-white Kwankwasiyya cap.
The NEC meeting forms part of a busy programme for the party on Monday. Other scheduled activities include the commissioning of its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja and the inauguration of its National Campaign Council.
The party is also expected to present Certificates of Return to its candidates contesting the presidential, governorship, National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly elections.
The events mark another step in the NDC’s efforts to organise its leadership, candidates and campaign structure ahead of 2027.
