BREAKING: TWO NNPP REPS DEFECT TO APC
Two members of the House of Representatives, Kabiru Usman and Abdullahi Sani, who were elected on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), have officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Their defection letters were read by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas during Thursday’s plenary session.
Representing Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya and Karaye/Rogo Federal Constituencies in Kano State, the lawmakers cited ongoing internal crises within the NNPP as the reason for their departure.
In a similar development, Oluwole Oke, who represents Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State, formally declared his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, was in attendance at the plenary session to express solidarity with the defecting members.
