BUHARI’S BURIAL MOVED TO TUESDAY, BODY ARRIVES NIGERIA TOMORROW
The burial of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 15, instead of the earlier planned Monday.
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, made this known while speaking to journalists on Monday. He explained that after consultations with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, it was agreed that the late president’s body would arrive Nigeria by 12 noon on Tuesday.
The burial will then take place at 2 pm in Daura, Buhari’s hometown in Katsina State, following Islamic funeral rites.
The body of the late president is currently being flown from London, where he passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness that was kept private.
In respect of Buhari’s passing, the Katsina State government had declared Monday a public holiday for residents to mourn. Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has announced seven days of national mourning to honour his predecessor.
As the nation awaits the final rites, many continue to pay tribute to Buhari, reflecting on his years of leadership and service to Nigeria.
