BURNA BOY PRESENTS SOCRATES AWARD TO BUKAYO SAKA AT 2026 BALLON D’OR CEREMONY ENTERTAINMENT
Nigerian music star Burna Boy presented the 2026 Socrates Award to Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London on Monday night.
Saka received the honour for his charitable work helping children access medical care, including surgeries to restore their sight.
Through his support for an organisation that provides medical assistance to children in need, the England international of Nigerian heritage has helped make life-changing treatment available to young patients.
Before presenting the award, Burna Boy spoke about his own commitment to supporting young footballers in Nigeria through an academy he established a few years ago.
The Grammy-winning singer said he hoped the academy would nurture talents who could one day earn recognition on the Ballon d’Or stage.
For Saka, the award recognises an impact that extends beyond his performances for Arsenal and England. His support for children’s healthcare shows how footballers can use their influence and resources to improve lives away from the pitch.
