BURNA BOY SETS RECORD AS FIRST AFRICAN ARTIST WITH 7 BILLBOARD HOT 100 ENTRIES
Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has once again made history, becoming the African artist with the most entries on the prestigious US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
His latest collaboration with American rapper Gunna, titled “WGFT” from Gunna’s new album The Last Wun, debuted at number 96 on this week’s chart. This marks Burna Boy’s seventh career entry, further cementing his global dominance.
Even more impressive, the Grammy-winning artist has now set another milestone—becoming the first African artist to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years (2021 through 2025).
Burna Boy’s Hot 100 journey began in 2021 when he featured on Justin Bieber’s “Loved By You”. A year later, he scored his first solo entry with the global smash “Last Last”, which peaked at number 44 in 2022. Since then, he has continued to consistently break new ground for African music on the global stage.
Beyond the US, Burna Boy also holds records on other major charts, including the UK Singles Chart with 26 entries and the Canadian Hot 100 with 11 entries—the most by any African artist.
With this new milestone, Burna Boy has not only raised the bar for African music but also solidified his place among the world’s top music stars.
