CARABAO CUP: REDKNAPP HAILS ARSENAL DUO NWANERI AND EZE AFTER WIN OVER PORT VALE
Former Liverpool midfielder and Sky Sports pundit, Jamie Redknapp, has singled out Arsenal youngsters Ethan Nwaneri and Eberechi Eze for praise after the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Port Vale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The North London side sealed their place in the fourth round of the competition with goals from Eze and Leandro Trossard at Vale Park.
Reflecting on the performance, Redknapp described Nwaneri as one of Arsenal’s “sharpest players” on the night, alongside Eze, who also got on the scoresheet.
“Saka will get an hour and then change it, ready for the weekend at Newcastle. That game is so important. But I have been impressed with Nwaneri—he’s been the sharpest of Arsenal’s players, and Eze,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports.
Mikel Arteta’s men will now turn their focus to the Premier League, where they face a tough test away at Newcastle United this weekend.
