CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: ARSENAL EDGE INTER MILAN, REAL MADRID ROUT MONACO
Arsenal confirmed their place in the top two of the Champions League group stage with a 3-1 win against Inter Milan. Gabriel Jesus starred for the Gunners, scoring twice, while Viktor Gyokeres added a late goal.
Mikel Arteta’s side had already secured a top-eight finish in the group following Manchester City’s surprising defeat to Bodo/Glimt earlier in the day. Jesus’ performance helped maintain Arsenal’s perfect record in Europe this season and boosted confidence ahead of their crucial clash with Manchester United. The forward has now strengthened his case to start ahead of Gyokeres, who responded with a late goal to reaffirm his place.
Elsewhere in the Champions League, Kylian Mbappe netted twice and Jude Bellingham also scored as Real Madrid cruised past Monaco in Alvaro Arbeloa’s first match in charge of the Spanish club.
