Bayern Munich and Arsenal both secured victories in their Champions League quarter-final first legs on Tuesday night.
In Spain, Vincent Kompany’s side claimed a 2-0 win at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Luis Díaz and Harry Kane scoring in each half to give Bayern a strong advantage over Real Madrid. Kylian Mbappé’s goal kept the contest alive ahead of the return leg at the Allianz Arena.
Arsenal edged Sporting 1-0, thanks to a late strike from Kai Havertz. The match seemed destined for a goalless draw until Gabriel Martinelli delivered a pass that left Havertz unmarked to seal the win.
