Chelsea wrapped up transfer deadline day with two confirmed player moves involving Facundo Buonanotte and Alex Matos.

In an official statement on Monday, the Premier League club announced that Buonanotte has joined the Blues on a season-long loan from Brighton. The young Argentine midfielder will now spend the 2025/26 campaign at Stamford Bridge as part of Chelsea’s squad.

Meanwhile, Chelsea also confirmed that Alex Matos has completed a permanent move to Sheffield United.

Matos, who signed for Chelsea in 2023, made his senior debut as a late substitute against Fulham in October of the same year. He featured regularly for the Under-21s in the first half of last season before joining Oxford United on loan in January.

The two moves mark Chelsea’s final pieces of business as the summer transfer window came to a close.
