CONTINUE TO DELIVER GOOD GOVERNANCE IN OSUN, OBASANJO TELLS ADELEKE

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to continue delivering good governance and meeting the needs of the people.

Obasanjo made the call during a surprise congratulatory visit to Adeleke at his residence in Ede on Sunday, following the governor’s victory in the Osun State governorship election.

According to a statement by Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Obasanjo was accompanied by Oyewole Fasawe during the visit.

The former president congratulated Adeleke, prayed for his continued success and urged him to remain focused on good governance and delivering the dividends of democracy.

Obasanjo told the governor, “Continue to deliver good governance. Continue to meet the needs of your people.”

Adeleke expressed surprise and appreciation for the visit, thanking Obasanjo for his support and promising to remain committed to the people of Osun State.

The governor said he would not disappoint God, the people of Osun and lovers of democracy who contributed to his victory.

The statement added that the state Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, accompanied Adeleke during the reception of the former president.

Adeleke was declared the winner of the Saturday governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, securing 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
