Residents of Osun State have been notified of a new phase in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) begins rotating Integrated Voter Enrolment Devices (IVEDs) across wards in the state.

According to Musa Olurode, Public Affairs Officer of INEC in Osun State, the initiative commenced on Monday, February 2, 2026, as part of efforts to decentralize voter registration services and bring them closer to citizens at the grassroots level.

“The rotation arrangement allows IVEDs to move from one ward to another within each Local Government Area, ensuring wider coverage and easier access to registration points,” the Commission explained.

INEC noted that the exercise enables eligible residents to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), transfer registration, or make other approved updates without the need to travel long distances.

“The rotation of IVEDs across wards is designed to bring voter registration services closer to the people,” the Commission stated in a release issued in Osogbo.

The electoral body revealed that the ward-level registration exercise will run for fifty days, from February 2 to April 10, 2026. Eligible citizens are encouraged to visit designated centres in their wards during the scheduled periods.

“For transparency and effective monitoring, a detailed rotation timetable for each Local Government Area will be made available to the public,” the statement added.

INEC reassured stakeholders that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure a smooth and orderly registration process across the state. The exercise is being conducted under the leadership of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mutiu Agboke.

“The Commission remains committed to a credible, inclusive, and accessible voter registration process and calls on all stakeholders to support the success of the exercise,” the statement concluded.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
