DANGOTE REFINERY SECURES RECORD $2.5BN EQUITY FUNDING
Dangote Refinery has secured a record $2.5 billion equity funding round, one of the largest in recent African industrial history.
The company announced the successful capital raise on Friday, describing it as a strong endorsement by investors of its strategic importance to Nigeria and the continent.
The funds will be deployed to optimise operations, complete critical infrastructure, and enhance the refinery’s capacity to meet domestic and regional petroleum needs.
Dangote Group Chairman, Aliko Dangote, said the equity injection reflects confidence in the refinery’s ability to drive energy security and industrial growth.
“This milestone brings us closer to full operational efficiency and our goal of transforming Nigeria into a net exporter of refined products,” he noted.
Analysts view the funding as a major boost for local refining capacity and a positive signal for foreign investment inflows into Nigeria’s energy sector.
