DAVIDO SAYS OMAH LAY COLLAB SAVED HIM FROM QUITTING MUSIC
Afrobeats sensation Davido has opened up about a career-defining moment that nearly ended his journey in music. The superstar revealed that he was close to quitting before the release of his chart-topping collaboration with Omah Lay, “With You.”
The track, which has since garnered millions of views across digital platforms, turned out to be the most loved song from his latest album—a surprise even to Davido himself.
Speaking in a recent video, the singer reflected on the turning point:
“We thank God. 13 or 14 years after, for me to have this kind of song… people usually have songs like this at the beginning or middle of their careers. I was even getting ready to bow out, then God gives me this kind of song. He (Omah Lay) definitely added more life to it.”
With over a decade of performing and global recognition already under his belt, Davido admitted that fatigue had begun to set in. But the success of “With You” reignited his drive, proving that even after years in the spotlight, there’s always room for a fresh spark.
