A medical doctor, Dr Ere Ogbachi, has died following complications after delivering triplets in Bayelsa State.

According to a family statement shared by her brother, Meshack Sintei, she gave birth at Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital before complications set in, leading to her transfer to the Intensive Care Unit at Federal Medical Centre.

Despite efforts by medical personnel to stabilise her condition, she died in the early hours of April 14, 2026.

The family described her final moments as distressing, noting that doctors made repeated attempts to revive her as her condition worsened.

Dr Ogbachi was said to be a registrar at NDUTH, a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, and an alumna of Niger Delta University.

Her death has left family, colleagues, and loved ones in mourning, as tributes continue to pour in for the late doctor, who is survived by her newborn triplets.
