Social media buzzed with excitement on Thursday after Nigerian music sensations Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, and Crown Uzama, aka Shallipopi, surprised fans with spontaneous cash giveaways worth millions of naira, triggered by viral online engagements.

Don Jazzy captured public attention when he gifted ₦6 million to a woman, Adeyemi Adejoke Abidemi, after discovering that her bank account balance was “unhealthy.”

The gesture was sparked by a trending post on X.com encouraging users to tag one celebrity who could bless them with ₦1 million. Responding to the trend, Adeyemi, who tweets under the handle #PopoolaJoke4, tagged Don Jazzy and wrote, “Make I tag #DONJAZZY. I dey always dream about him. Happy new month sir.” 

The Mavin Records boss responded with a simple “Akant namba,” prompting Adeyemi to share her GTBank account details.

Moments later, she posted a screenshot of a ₦1 million credit alert, expressing her shock and gratitude. “Jesuuuuuusssssssss, this is huge,” she wrote. “Thank you so much for your incredible generosity. Receiving 1 million naira is beyond anything I expected, and I’m truly grateful. Your support means the world to me. God bless you abundantly sir.”

But the generosity didn’t stop there. After noticing her previous account balance of just ₦67.29, Don Jazzy replied, “Amen ooo. That your akant balance is not healthy. I don add another 5 million. More blessings ma.”

Adeyemi later confirmed receiving the additional ₦5 million by sharing a screenshot showing her new account balance of ₦6 million.

Overjoyed by the unexpected windfall, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “Oluwa oo. I’m truly thankful for this incredible blessing. May the Almighty who used you to uplift me reward you beyond imagination. May your hands never lack, your heart always know peace, and may your generations continue to enjoy divine favour. Thank you #DONJAZZY. May God continue to expand your territory.”

Responding to a social media user who questioned her previously low balance, she clarified, “None of my accounts had up to ₦1. I can screenshot them all for you—only GTBank had ₦67.”

Meanwhile, Shallipopi also joined the generous spree, gifting ₦1 million each to two fans as part of a promotional campaign for his new song.

On Thursday, Shallipopi took to X (formerly Twitter) with a playful post: “Summer is coming—get your shorts and bikinis ready. And don’t forget to bring a small speaker in case you want to vibe to the album.”

In response, a fan named Samuel Uchechukwu Ifesinachi (@teslime_dmw) commented, “Summer is coming, still broke as hell. No money to even buy a speaker.”

Moved by the comment, Shallipopi replied, “Imma send u a million if you promise to get yourself a very big JBL.” The fan quickly agreed and shared his account details.

Shortly after, Shallipopi confirmed the transaction by posting a screenshot of the ₦1 million payment on his X page.

Another fan, Anirah Gabriel (@gabe_the_menace), also caught the singer’s attention by reminding him of a past interaction from March. In the previous chat, Shallipopi had asked, “How much you fit chop?” to which Gabriel replied, “Shock me papi.”

Reacting to the resurfaced conversation, Shallipopi joked, “Lol, you no talk how much you fit chop. You dey form for presido, talk jorr.” Gabriel then responded, “Make I see 1 meter from you, presido jare.”

Shallipopi responded enthusiastically, “Now you are talking,” and asked for his bank details. He later confirmed the transfer of another ₦1 million to Gabriel by sharing the transaction receipt.
