DRAMA IN UMUAHIA AS MAN LOCKS GIRLFRIEND’S SHOP AND THREATENS HER—ACTIVIST INTERVENES
A dramatic scene unfolded in Umuahia, Abia State, after a man allegedly locked up his girlfriend’s shop and warned her not to touch the key, threatening to “deal with her” if she dared to open it.
Human rights activist, Ochiegbu Marvelous, confirmed the incident and led his team to the shop on Monday, November 34, 2025, where they forcefully broke the lock to free the woman’s business space. According to him, the man had no legal right to seal the shop since all rental documents were in the woman’s name.
In a post shared online, Ochiegbu wrote:
“Boyfriend don go lock em girlfriend shop for Umuahia, Abia State, and vowed to deal with her if she tamper with the key. I go help am break the shop key today then wait for his reactions. Osee abalam Anya.”
True to his words, the activist and his team arrived at the scene, broke the padlock, and reopened the shop. He later shared an update:
“Shop successfully opened. We are waiting for his next line of action. He doesn’t have any right to lock her shop. No justifiable reason at all. Some men should learn ooooo. Shop rent and other receipts bear the lady’s name.”
While the motive behind the man’s actions was not disclosed, the incident has sparked conversations online about boundaries in relationships and the importance of respecting legal ownership.
More updates are expected as the situation continues to unfold.
