EBENEZER OBEY BREAKS SILENCE: “I’M ALIVE AND WELL, IGNORE THE DEATH RUMOURS”
Veteran Nigerian music legend Ebenezer Obey has dismissed viral rumours claiming he passed away after suffering a stroke.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the 82-year-old singer appeared alongside his two sons, joyfully singing to reassure fans of his good health.
Captioning the clip, Obey wrote:
“Stop the rumours!!!! Ebenezer Obey is alive and well.”
Addressing the false reports, the juju music icon described them as “lies from the kingdom of darkness” and expressed frustration that some people even circulated fake images of coffins to push the story.
Obey revealed that he is currently in London for personal care, not because of any serious illness. He firmly stated, “I don’t have a stroke. I came to London to look after myself. I am alive, I am alive, says the Lord Jesus Christ.”
This isn’t the first time the legendary musician has had to counter false death reports—similar rumours spread in 2020 and again earlier this year.
Fans and well-wishers have since flooded his page with relief and prayers, celebrating his life and legacy.
