EDO SHRINE RAID LEADS TO SEIZURE OF 498KG CANNABIS
Operatives have uncovered and seized a large quantity of suspected cannabis weighing about 498 kilograms during a raid on a shrine in Edo.
Security sources said the operation was carried out following intelligence reports linking the location to illicit drug storage and distribution activities.
According to authorities, the suspected drugs were discovered hidden within the premises during a coordinated search, leading to the recovery of the substance and the securing of the site.
Officials added that the raid is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks operating across the state and other parts of the country.
Investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for storing and distributing the illicit substances, as well as possible collaborators connected to the operation.
Security agencies reaffirmed their commitment to sustained enforcement against drug-related crimes and urged residents to provide useful intelligence to aid future operations.
