The Bauchi State Police Command has deployed personnel across strategic locations and released emergency hotlines ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria.

The police command also expressed appreciation to residents for their cooperation in maintaining peace and security across Bauchi State.

Habib said adequate personnel had been deployed to Eid prayer grounds, major highways, recreational centres, and other public places across the state’s 20 local government areas.

He added that the deployment includes conventional police officers, tactical units, traffic personnel, as well as collaboration with sister security agencies and local vigilante groups.

The command warned individuals intending to disrupt public peace to stay away from the state, stressing that it would deal decisively with acts such as thuggery, reckless driving, use of fireworks, and other unlawful activities.

Residents were also urged to monitor their children and wards during the festive period to prevent involvement in criminal behaviour.

The police further released emergency contact numbers, 08151849417, 07031961762, and 08050404039, for residents to report suspicious movements, persons, or objects.

The Commissioner assured that the command remains committed to ensuring a safe and peaceful celebration before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
