EID-EL-KABIR: POLICE ORDER MASSIVE DEPLOYMENT, ROLL OUT EMERGENCY NUMBERS IN KWARA
The Kwara State Police Command has announced a large-scale deployment of personnel and operational assets across the state ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration to ensure the safety of residents and prevent security breaches.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim faithful in Kwara State and across the country.
The command urged residents to celebrate peacefully, responsibly, and in accordance with the law as Muslims observe the Eid al-Adha festival.
The police disclosed that personnel and operational assets have been strategically deployed to Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, highways, motor parks, critical national assets, and other vulnerable locations across the state.
It added that Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders, and other operational units have been directed to dominate public spaces before, during, and after the celebrations through coordinated security operations.
The deployment includes tactical and conventional police units carrying out visibility policing, intelligence-driven surveillance, vehicular patrols, stop-and-search operations, crowd control, and other crime-prevention measures.
The command also warned residents against erecting tents, canopies, or other structures on public roads and highways, noting that such actions pose security and traffic risks.
Residents were advised to remain vigilant, obey traffic regulations, cooperate with security agencies, and promptly report suspicious activities.
The police further released emergency contact numbers, 07032069501 and 08125275046, for residents to report distress situations or security concerns.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and beyond, while appreciating residents for their continued support and cooperation.
