The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed renewed confidence in its readiness for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, as its candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, assured party supporters of a decisive victory.

Bejide, who received a warm reception at the party’s secretariat in Ado-Ekiti after returning from Abuja, reiterated his commitment to steering the ADC toward electoral success.

Speaking to a large gathering of supporters, he framed the event as a moment of gratitude for the party’s progress rather than a campaign rally.

He encouraged members to stay resilient despite the recent crisis at the party secretariat, calling the incident a temporary setback. “This is a positive start toward 2026,” he said. “The ticket is in God’s hands—no power comes except from Him.”

The event drew prominent party figures, including State Chairman Pastor Omolayo, former Commissioner for Information Akin Omole, Hon. Femi Adegbite, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, and Hon. Dare Adekolu. They all pledged their support for Bejide’s candidacy and affirmed their commitment to strengthening the party ahead of the election.

Pastor Omolayo praised members for attending despite recent tensions, urging unity and solidarity, and describing the ADC as a party founded on love and mutual respect.

Barr. Omole acknowledged the unrest in recent weeks, noting Bejide’s trip to Abuja to address key electoral matters. He commended members for their dedication and encouraged increased participation in party activities.

Other speakers, including Adegbite, Fayose, and Adekolu, emphasized loyalty, cooperation, and steadfast commitment, assuring supporters that the ADC leadership is actively resolving internal challenges to position the party for victory.

Addressing the earlier attack on the party office, Bejide described it as politically motivated and confirmed it had been reported to authorities in Abuja. He also highlighted broader national issues, such as insecurity and unemployment, linking them to years of leadership failures.

Bejide maintained that empowering citizens through skills acquisition and revitalizing agriculture would help tackle these challenges in Ekiti and nationwide.

“We have a lot to do, and we are determined to achieve it,” he declared, reaffirming the ADC’s dedication to working tirelessly for the people.

With renewed energy from its leadership and supporters, the ADC positions itself as a strong contender as the countdown to the 2026 Ekiti governorship election continues.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
