EKITI FC SHINES BRIGHT AT 2025 KWARA SOUTH FOOTBALL FIESTA
Ekiti FC and Kwara State made a remarkable impression at the Kwara South Football Fiesta, delivering a stellar performance that earned them the prestigious title of champions in the 2025 edition.
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, young football enthusiasts from Kwara South gathered at Zeems Sports Arena in Offa to celebrate unity, friendship, and cultural pride during the second edition of the Kwara South Football Fiesta.
The fiesta kicked off with an exciting clash between the defending champions, Ibolo FC, and Igbomina FC. In a closely fought match, Ibolo FC narrowly triumphed with a 2-1 victory, setting the stage for intense competition throughout the day.
In the next match, Ekiti FC took to the field against a confident Ibolo FC. Demonstrating sharp attacking moves and a solid defensive line, Ekiti FC dominated the game, securing a convincing 3-1 win and establishing themselves as strong contenders for the title.
The final showdown featured Ekiti FC against Igbomina FC, where Ekiti FC once again showcased their superiority with a commanding 2-0 victory. Their back-to-back wins secured them the undisputed championship crown of the Kwara South Football Fiesta’s second edition.
The event attracted several prominent figures, including Mr. Tony Oyeyiola, Lead People Advisor (Middle East and Africa) at the British Council; Mr. Suraj Ojewale (Jarus), CEO of Jarus Homes and Investment Limited; Mr. Musbau Olaniyi, Babajiroro of Offa; Barr. Joseph Adewumi, Principal Partner at De’ Jadeville Legal Practitioners and Consultants; Mr. Hammed Olawale Alabi, CEO of Hadji Mart Gram; and Barr. Titilope Anifowoshe, Head of Programs/EA Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship Leadership, among others.
Speaking after the event, convener Adetola A. Kehinde praised the players for their excellent sportsmanship. Congratulating the winners, he emphasized that the Kwara South Football Fiesta is more than just a competition — it is a celebration of love, brotherhood, and community spirit that promotes cohesion and sustainable development in Kwara South.
