Arsenal winger Noni Madueke is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a knee injury during the Gunners’ 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed that the 23-year-old was forced off early in the encounter after experiencing discomfort.

According to The Athletic, scans have revealed that Madueke will be out for around two months, ruling him out of a crucial run of fixtures for the North London side.

The England international will miss Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League matches against Newcastle United and West Ham United, as well as their Champions League clash with Olympiacos.

His absence will also extend beyond the October international break, with Madueke expected to sit out fixtures against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Burnley, and Sunderland.

The injury comes as a fresh blow to Arteta’s squad, with Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz also currently sidelined.

Madueke, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in the summer, had begun to cement his place in Arteta’s attacking plans before this setback.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
