EPL: MAN UNITED STRUGGLING — IGHALO SPEAKS ON AMORIM’S SACK
Former Manchester United forward Odion Ighalo has expressed concerns over the club’s lackluster performance in the Premier League this season.
Ighalo shared his thoughts following the recent dismissal of Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, saying he anticipated a managerial change due to the team’s inconsistent results, though he did not expect it to happen so soon.
Speaking on SuperSport, Ighalo said, “I saw that coming. I knew Manchester United would eventually change the coach, but I didn’t think it would happen this early.
“The team hasn’t been performing well. Their results have been inconsistent — drawing games they were expected to win and losing matches they should have taken.
“In their recent home game against Wolves, the team lacked cohesion. Against Newcastle, even playing at home, they approached the game as if they were the away side, allowing Newcastle to dominate possession.
“So, while I expected a managerial change, the timing surprised me. I hope the club brings in someone capable of taking Manchester United to the next level.”
