EPL TABLE: MAN CITY MOVE WITHIN TWO POINTS OF ARSENAL AFTER 5–4 THRILLER AT FULHAM
Manchester City have cut Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League table to two points, following a dramatic 5–4 victory over Fulham on Tuesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s men entered the match after a tense 3–2 win over Leeds United, a result that had already reduced Arsenal’s advantage after the Gunners were held to a 1–1 draw by Chelsea on Sunday.
City looked to be cruising when Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders, and Phil Foden fired them into a 3–0 lead.
Fulham, however, refused to fold:
Emile Smith Rowe struck before halftime
Foden added his second for 4–1
Samuel Chukwueze scored twice
Alex Iwobi added another to make it 5–4
Manchester City held on to secure all three points and pile pressure back on Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side will now look to restore their five-point cushion when they host Brentford on Wednesday night.
